Bringing songs that are radio friendly and appealing to the masses, Autotelic a homegrown indie-pop rock band consists of Josh Villena (guitars and vocals), Kai Honasan (keyboards and vocals), Neil Tin (guitars), EJ Edralin (synth), Timothy “Pabs” Vargas (bass guitar) and Gep Macadaeg (drums) is constantly making a spot in the music industry.
The band is getting more attention and now crossing over the mainstream after signing with MCA Music, and releasing some of their songs such as “Gising” and “Laro” which have been enjoying regular airplay in different radio stations.
It started out as a four-piece in 2012 (Villena, Tin, Pabs and Gep) and was initially intended to have a heavier sound but the original members decided to start writing songs that would be good to get a wider range of listeners, as they strive to get more.
Eventually, they were joined by keyboard artist Eric Tubon, who is also with the rock band Fuseboxx and in 2014 singer-songwriter Kai who was also a finalist in “The Voice Philippines” replaced Tubon as their keyboard player. The first song on which they worked with Honasan is “Dahilan.”
The band is actively attending various gigs these days and is set to perform some of their tracks LIVE on Home Radio.
Catch them tonight, April 27, 2017 (Thursday) at 7p.m. on the new home of Indie music, the Indie Nation.
With their purpose to share music and inspire people, ‘Autotelic’ will sure go a long long way.
